Executive Liaison, Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness

Area of Work: Public Health

I began my career with the Fulton County Health Department in 1980 as an Environmental Health Sanitarian Trainee after graduating from Georgia State University with a B.S. in Biology. I continued my career with this organization while receiving several promotions as an Environmental Health Specialist, Industrial Sanitarian, and an Environmental Health Supervisor. In 1988, I was promoted to senior management as the Chief over the Food Service Section within the Environmental Health Services Division. I held this position until April 1999 when I was reassigned to the Director’s office as the Executive Liaison for the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness. Major accomplishments in my 23 years of public health experience include: Oversight of the Food Service Program for the “1996 Olympic Games”, Development of a Food Service Enforcement/Inspection Program recognized by the State of Georgia and adopted for the Olympic Games. As the Executive Liaison for the Director’s office, I specialize in public relations, project management and development. My future plans include pursuit of a Masters of Public Health and a Doctorate in Public Health Policy. I also enjoy mentoring youths in the importance of Public Health and some day would like to teach on the collegiate level. My greatest qualities include dedication to service, compassion for people and commitment to excellence.
