Area of work: Women's cancer prevention

Dr. Garcia is an Associate Professor and Director of the Division Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center, and Medical Director of the Women's Health & Resource Center. He is also the Principal Investigator for the federally funded Arizona Hispanic Center of Excellence, and Deputy Director and Co-PI of the University of Arizona National Center of Excellence in Women's Health. Dr. Garcia has faculty appointments in the Division of Epidemiology & Biostatistics in the College of Public Health, and the Mexican-American Studies & Research Center in the College of Behavioral Sciences, and is a member of the Arizona Cancer Center.

Personal Information:

I am married to an Obstetrician and a father of 2 horses.

What I would like to get out of this program:

I want to acquire the skills to effectively advocate for the health of women and minority populations.
