Ginneh Stowe is employed as a Program Analyst with the Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Office of Federal Assistance Management. She is responsible for providing Federal oversight to programmatic grant reviews authorized under the Public Health Service Act. Her role is to collaboratively work with program staff to determine eligibility of grant applications based on legislative intent. Her work also involves facilitating the selection of content experts that objectively review the grant applications. Her duties are to ensure that all grant applications submitted to the Agency are reviewed in a process which is fair and impartial.
Prior to joining HRSA by way of the HRSA Scholars Program, Ginneh worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a Program Analyst with the Food and Nutrition Service where she was responsible for policy analysis and research on issues related to domestic nutrition programs. She also has professional work experience in clinical trials research administration and human resources management.
Ginneh received a Bachelor's degree from Hampton University and a Master of Science degree from Georgetown University. Her future goals include the pursuit of a doctoral degree in public health and playing a key role in the reduction and eventual elimination of racial/ethnic health disparities through scientific research, public policy and program development.
Personal Information:
I live in Washington, DC and in my free time I enjoy traveling and reading. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, a college-based sorority, which enables me to participate in meaningful and rewarding community service activities. I am also am an avid basketball fall.
What I would like to get out of this program:
As a participant in this fellowship I hope to increase my competence in the field of public health; further develop my leadership skills; network and learn from other public health professionals; increase my ability to recognize key public health issues that affect the delivery of care and dissemination of disease prevention and public health education; gain a better understanding of the financial management of public health service systems and infrastructures; and strengthen my knowledge of how crisis management affects decisions being made in public health.
