Felisha Dickey, MSW, MPA, is a social work consultant with the Florida Department of Health (DOH), Office of Infant, Maternal and Reproductive Health (IMRH). She has worked for DOH, IMRH for 8 years providing consultative services, technical assistance and programmatic quality assurance on maternal and child health issued and the delivery of services. Her focus areas include Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Responsible Fatherhood, Healthy Start Risk Screen and Strengthening Families. She is also the maternal and child health liaison for 13 of 67 Florida counties, providing quality improvement/quality assurance visits and technical assistance as needed. Additionally, Felisha is the state coordinator for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.

Miss Dickey received her Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) from Florida A & M University, in Tallahassee, Florida in 1996 and a dual Masters of social work and public administration from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida in 1999.

I enjoy mentoring, exercising, reading and writing poetry.

What I would like to get out of this program

I anticipate that I will grow as a public health professional, having expanded my understanding of effective public health leadership, knowledge about effective leadership practices and how best to successfully apply these skills within the realm of my agency and community. Also, I look forward to the process of further developing my professional aspirations. Furthermore, I expect that through the activities, discussions and relationships with a new network of peers, to expand my thinking about leadership possibilities and avenues to strengthen the infrastructure of public health.
