Senior Grants Manager and Quality Management Coordinator, Cathedral Health Services, Inc.
Area of work: Grants, program development, program evaluation and quality management
I currently serve as the Senior Grants Manager for Cathedral Health Services, Inc, in Newark, NJ (seven years. My professional background includes grants development, management and strategic planning in the areas of health care, education, (adult and youth), social services, not-for profit development, and capacity building. Particular expertise exists relative to program development, evaluation and funding of HIV/AIDS primary health care, HIV prevention, counseling and testing, health education and screening programs, and ancillary support services. My primary responsibilities include grant development, funding research, grant writing, fiscal oversight, government relations, establishing private - public partnerships and program and policy evaluation. Experience in community-based programs or services include developing and administering programs focusing on welfare-to-work, employment and adult and youth education. I have served on the Board of Directors as a founding member for the development of two charter schools and one not-for-profit community development agency in central New Jersey. My private industry career spanned 11 years and was developed as an employee of Merrill Lyncin New York City where I ended my employment as a Supervisor of International Settlements.
Personal Information
I am the proud parent of two daughters,and the grandmother of twin gransons. I am certified to teach Introduction to Construction Trades and I was selected to to join the inaugural class of Pew Civic Entreprenuer. I love sports and competition and enjoy cartoons and video games as a method of mental relaxation. I also enjoy civic and charitable activities, teaching or training of youth and adults and traveling.
What I would like to get out of this program
I would like to develop the skills to contribute to the strategic planning, rebirth, and success of our hospital system which is undergoign drastic reductions and changes. I hope to develop a broader more global perception of the health care industry and the financial side of it. Finally,I hope to someday be a position to impact, direct or author public policy regarding health care and the elimination of healthcare dispartieis in the United States.
