I was born and raised in Alaska. I received a Bachelor of Biology from the University of Alaska. I attended the University of Washington for my MD degree and completed my residency program at the Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, Michigan. I am a Family Practice Physician and reside in Alaska. I am Athabascan Indian and have devoted my medical career to serving my people. I worked in Fairbanks, Alaska for 15 years as a provider and medical director. Two and a half years ago I moved to Anchorage and took a job as the Medical Director of Quality Assurance. This position is primarily administrative with minimal patient care. It involves overseeing that medical services are compliant with all accreditation, regulatory, compliance, safety and CLIA requirements. This position also includes serving on the Executive Management Team of the hospital, liaison to the State Clinical Directors and other projects such as improving health screening rates for our customers.

Personal Information

I am married and between the two of us we have 7 children. I enjoy photography, painting and writing.

What I would like to get out of this program

I would like to help develope my leadership skills which would include improvement in my communications skills, understand finance issues in crisis situation and prevention from reaching this point, and learn techniques for networking.
