Miranda Thompson is a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina. For the past 4 years Miranda has worked on and successfully completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). Since 2007 Miranda has worked with Leading to Change Inc. (LTC), an organization training company out of Charlotte. While working with LTC and facilitating philanthropic youth organizations, Miranda began working with the North Carolina Native American Youth Organization, helping lead the youth into new endeavors. Miranda is now working on a Master of Science in Public Health degree at UNCC and plans to remain within North Carolina upon graduation.

What I would like to get out of this program

The opportunity to meet other members of minority groups who are also motivated and educated. Also the opportunity to experience the Chapel Hill campus and further networking skills.
