Al Sullivan is the president and owner of Inspirus Consulting Inc., a firm specializing in optimizing the key elements for organizational success (people, strategies and processes).  Mr. Sullivan’s professional experience allowed him the opportunity to contribute in a variety of roles and organizations including Human Resources leader, Manufacturing manager and Army officer.  He has been fortunate to have an opportunity of learning and making a difference at leading global organizations such as GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), NIKE, Dell Computer, ICI Fiberite and the US Army.  Mr. Sullivan is also no stranger to small and medium size organizations where he received an abundance of hands on experience at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and as a Talent Acquisition consultant at Technical Staff Recruiters.

Mr. Sullivan is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with 19 years total professional experience.  He earned his BA degree from Alabama A&M University.  He has had success in applying Six Sigma process improvement techniques to ongoing projects and initiatives after successfully passing the Greenbelt exam.  Mr. Sullivan won the “Attraction/Development & Retention” Diversity award after implementing initiatives to increase female and minority leaders at GSK.  He has designed long-term global inclusion initiatives as a strategic approach to culture change.  He is a graduate of Ranger School, which is one of the U.S. Military’s most prestigious experiential leadership training courses.

Mr. Sullivan’s professional affiliations include membership in the Society of Human Resources Management, Triangle Society of Human Resources Management (diversity committee member), The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (past board member) and president of the Triangle Jazz Society.

Some of Mr. Sullivan’s specific areas of specialty include multiculturalism/inclusion, talent acquisition/management, employee engagement, strategic human resources management, performance management and various other process improvements.  He has effectively worked in a variety of organizational settings including manufacturing facilities, corporate headquarters, regional offices and outdoor experiential learning conditions.  He has effectively worked with a variety of staff members including manufacturing operators/managers, sales/marketing, technical/engineering, customer service and other professional staff members (i.e. Legal, Human Resources, Finance, IT, etc).  Mr. Sullivan has also worked directly with global corporate executives, front line manufacturing operators and everyone in between.
 
Mr. Sullivan is married and has three children.  Some of his personal interests include enjoying live jazz, hiking the Appalachians, fishing and training for triathlons.
