Dr. Belinda Johnson White
Assistant Professor, Leadership and Professional Development

After spending 13 years in marketing, sales and training for the IBM Corporation, Dr. White answered the call to pursue her life mission and personal passion for leadership development. In 1993, she began her second career as an instructor at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. White is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, where she teaches Leadership and Professional Development, a core course in the business program and is the co-designer of the leadership studies minor.
Dr. White's research interests are effective leadership pedagogy and executive leadership development for professionals of color.
Dr. White holds a B.S. degree from Spelman College, a M.S. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a PhD in higher education policy and leadership from Georgia State University. She has done further study in leadership development at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; the Institute for Leadership Advancement, Terry College of Business, University of Georgia; and the Salzburg Seminar, Salzburg, Austria. Her professional organization memberships include the Academy of Management and the Association of Leadership Educators.
Her book is titled: Dr. White’s 21st Century Guide to Leadership and Professional Development: From Motivation to Implementation to Execution: Life Success Tools and Strategies for Emerging Leaders of Color.
Her goal is not to turn out cookie-cutter “suits” that lose their identity in an unquenchable thirst and desire to survive in corporate America. Her goal is to share information that has proven to be useful in the realization of a full, content, and satisfying life, regardless of one’s occupational choice and in all areas of one’s life.
